Job description

Patient Care and Safety: Ensure patient safety and comfort during X-ray procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and shielding sensitive areas from radiation exposure. Follow safety protocols and use radiation protection devices to minimize radiation exposure risks for patients, staff, and yourself. Equipment Operation: Operate X-ray machines, digital imaging equipment, and related technology to capture high-quality diagnostic images of patients' internal structures, organs, and tissues. Adjust X-ray settings, exposure parameters, and image quality as needed to achieve optimal results. Positioning and Technique: Position patients properly and accurately align X-ray equipment to obtain clear and detailed images of the targeted anatomical area. Follow positioning protocols and standard imaging techniques to capture images from various angles and perspectives. Image Processing and Evaluation: Process and evaluate X-ray images to ensure clarity, accuracy, and diagnostic quality. Adjust contrast, brightness, and image orientation as necessary for optimal visualization of anatomical structures and abnormalities. Quality Assurance: Perform quality control checks on X-ray equipment, image processing systems, and imaging accessories to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ensure image quality consistency. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or image artifacts to resolve technical issues promptly. Patient Record Documentation: Document X-ray procedures, imaging findings, patient information, and radiation exposure data accurately and comprehensively in medical records or electronic health record (EHR) systems. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations when handling patient information. Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, interpret imaging findings, and communicate diagnostic results effectively. Assist radiologists during image-guided procedures or interventions as needed. Continuing Education and Training: Stay updated on advances in radiologic technology, imaging techniques, and safety practices through continuing education, professional development, and certification programs. Maintain licensure and certification requirements to ensure competency and proficiency in the field. Communication Skills: Communicate clearly and effectively with patients to address concerns, provide instructions, and obtain relevant medical history information. Collaborate with healthcare team members to exchange information, share observations, and coordinate patient care. Problem-solving and Critical Thinking: Apply problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities to assess challenging imaging situations, adapt imaging techniques to patient conditions, and troubleshoot technical issues encountered during X-ray procedures. Adaptability and Flexibility: Adapt to changes in workload, patient needs, and scheduling demands in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Remain flexible in responding to emergent situations, urgent imaging requests, or unexpected workflow fluctuations.
