Pathanamthitta, Kerala Full Time Date: 06 June 2024

Job description

Wheel Balancing: Purpose: Wheel balancing ensures that the weight of the tire and wheel assembly is evenly distributed around the axle. Procedure: A technician uses a wheel balancer machine to determine any imbalance in the tire and wheel assembly. Small weights are then attached to the rim of the wheel to counterbalance any heavy spots, ensuring that the assembly rotates smoothly without causing vibrations. Signs of Imbalance: Uneven tire wear, steering wheel vibrations, or a vibrating sensation in the vehicle at certain speeds are signs that the wheels may be out of balance. Wheel Alignment: Purpose: Wheel alignment refers to the adjustment of the angles of the wheels relative to each other and to the vehicle's frame or suspension system. Types of Alignment: There are three main types of wheel alignment: toe alignment, camber alignment, and caster alignment. These adjustments ensure that the wheels are perpendicular to the ground, parallel to each other, and aligned with the vehicle's centerline. Benefits: Proper wheel alignment improves steering stability, reduces tire wear, enhances fuel efficiency, and ensures optimal handling and safety. Signs of Misalignment: Uneven tire wear, vehicle pulling to one side, steering wheel off-center when driving straight, or a vibrating steering wheel are indicators of misalignment.
