Mallappally, Kerala Full Time Date: 15 May 2024

Job description

Purpose: Wheel alignment ensures that the wheels are properly aligned with each other and with the vehicle's frame. Correct alignment improves handling, steering response, fuel efficiency, and tire longevity. Types of Alignment: There are three main types of wheel alignment: Camber: Measures the inward or outward tilt of the wheel when viewed from the front. Toe: Measures the inward or outward angle of the wheels when viewed from above. Caster: Measures the forward or backward tilt of the steering axis. Procedure: The vehicle is placed on an alignment rack, and sensors are attached to the wheels to measure their alignment angles. The technician then adjusts the suspension components to bring the wheels into alignment according to manufacturer specifications. Symptoms of Misalignment: Signs of misalignment include uneven tire wear, steering pulling to one side, steering wheel off-center when driving straight, and handling issues such as drifting or wandering. Frequency: Wheel alignment should be performed whenever there are signs of misalignment or uneven tire wear, after suspension or steering component repairs, and as part of routine maintenance (typically every 10,000 to 20,000 miles) to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
