Wheel Balancing and Alignment Job in Alappuzha

Alappuzha, Kerala Full Time Date: 23 May 2024

Job description

Wheel Balancing: Identify imbalances in the distribution of weight around the wheel and tire assembly. Use a wheel balancing machine to determine the amount and location of imbalance. Attach counterweights to the wheel rim to offset imbalances and achieve proper balance. Spin the wheel assembly on the balancing machine to verify balance and make adjustments as needed. Ensure that each wheel and tire assembly is balanced to minimize vibration, tire wear, and stress on suspension components. Wheel Alignment: Assess the alignment angles of each wheel relative to the vehicle's chassis and steering components. Check alignment angles such as toe (parallelism of wheels), camber (vertical tilt of wheels), and caster (forward or backward tilt of steering axis). Use specialized alignment equipment, such as alignment racks and laser alignment tools, to measure alignment angles accurately. Make adjustments to alignment angles by adjusting suspension components, such as tie rods, control arms, and camber bolts. Align wheels to manufacturer specifications for proper handling, steering response, and tire wear patterns. Perform four-wheel alignment for vehicles with independent suspension systems to ensure uniformity of alignment across all wheels. Tire Inspection: Inspect tires for signs of wear, damage, or uneven tread wear patterns. Check tire pressure and adjust as needed to manufacturer-recommended specifications. Rotate tires regularly to promote even wear and extend tire life. Recommend tire replacement when tires are worn beyond safe limits or show signs of damage or deterioration. Customer Education: Communicate with customers about the importance of wheel balancing and alignment for vehicle safety, handling, and tire longevity. Explain alignment angles, tire wear patterns, and the potential consequences of neglecting proper maintenance. Provide recommendations for maintenance schedules and services based on vehicle usage, driving habits, and environmental factors. Quality Assurance: Ensure accuracy and precision in wheel balancing and alignment procedures to achieve optimal results. Perform quality checks and verify alignment readings to confirm that adjustments meet manufacturer specifications. Test-drive vehicles after wheel balancing and alignment to assess handling, steering, and ride comfort.
