Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus. Taking Orders: Taking food and beverage orders from guests accurately and efficiently. Answering questions about menu items, making recommendations, and noting any special requests or dietary restrictions. Serving Food and Drinks: Delivering orders to tables in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy and presentation standards. Serving beverages, such as water, wine, and cocktails, and refilling glasses as needed. Upselling and Promoting: Recommending additional items, such as appetizers, desserts, or special dishes, to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Checking on Guests: Checking back with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meals, addressing any concerns, and promptly resolving issues or complaints. Processing Payments: Presenting bills to guests, processing payments accurately, and handling cash, credit cards, or electronic payments. Providing receipts and thanking guests for their patronage. Maintaining Cleanliness: Clearing tables of dishes, glassware, and utensils after guests finish their meals. Resetting tables with clean linens and utensils for the next guests. Collaborating with Kitchen and Bar: Communicating guests' orders to the kitchen and coordinating with bartenders for beverage orders. Ensuring orders are prepared and served according to guest specifications. Knowledge of Menu and Specials: Having a thorough knowledge of the restaurant's menu, including daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods. Being able to describe menu items accurately and answer guest questions. Teamwork and Communication: Working as part of a team with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other waitstaff to ensure efficient and coordinated service. Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors to maintain smooth operations. Adhering to Health and Safety Standards: Following hygiene and safety protocols, including proper handling of food and beverages, cleanliness of work areas, and compliance with health regulations. Customer Engagement: Building rapport with guests by providing personalized service, remembering regular customers' preferences, and creating a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
