Job description

Greeting Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus, utensils, and other dining essentials to start their dining experience on a positive note. Taking Orders: Taking food and beverage orders from guests, accurately recording their preferences, special requests, and dietary restrictions, and communicating orders promptly to the kitchen and bar staff. Serving Food and Drinks: Serving food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy in order delivery, proper presentation of dishes, and adherence to service standards and quality guidelines. Knowledge of Menu: Having a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dishes, and being able to provide detailed descriptions, recommendations, and suggestions to guests. Upselling and Promotion: Suggesting additional items, specials, or promotions to guests based on their preferences, promoting upsell opportunities such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty cocktails to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Check Management: Presenting bills to guests, processing payments accurately, handling cash and credit card transactions, and providing change or receipts as needed, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in financial transactions. Table Maintenance: Monitoring and maintaining cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and service stations throughout the shift, clearing used dishes, utensils, and glassware, and resetting tables for incoming guests. Customer Interaction: Interacting with guests in a friendly, attentive, and courteous manner, anticipating their needs, addressing inquiries, and responding to feedback or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with kitchen staff, bartenders, hosts/hostesses, and other waitstaff members to coordinate service, communicate guest preferences or special requests, and ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction. Product Knowledge: Staying informed about restaurant promotions, events, and offerings, as well as industry trends and best practices, to provide accurate information and enhance the overall guest experience. Problem Resolution: Resolving guest complaints, issues, or conflicts calmly and effectively, listening to concerns, offering solutions or alternatives, and escalating unresolved issues to management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction and retention. Compliance and Safety: Adhering to food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and service protocols, following proper sanitation procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment to prevent accidents, injuries, or health risks.
