Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escort them to their tables, and assist with seating arrangements. Provide menus and inform guests about daily specials, promotions, and recommendations. Taking Orders: Take food and beverage orders from guests, accurately recording their preferences and any special requests. Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Offer suggestions and upsell additional items or upgrades. Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver orders to the kitchen and bar, ensuring timely preparation and presentation of dishes and drinks. Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and courteously, following established serving protocols and etiquette. Table Maintenance: Maintain clean and organized tables throughout the dining experience. Clear empty plates, glasses, and utensils promptly, and reset tables for the next guests. Ensure that tables are properly set with utensils, condiments, and napkins. Checking on Guests: Check in with guests periodically to ensure that they are satisfied with their meals and dining experience. Address any concerns or issues promptly, and offer solutions or assistance to resolve problems. Processing Payments: Present bills to guests, accurately totaling food and beverage charges, taxes, and gratuities. Process payments, including cash, credit card transactions, or electronic payments, and provide receipts as requested. Upselling and Promotion: Promote menu items, specials, and promotions to increase sales and enhance the dining experience. Recommend wine pairings, appetizers, desserts, or other add-ons based on guest preferences and menu offerings. Knowledge of Menu and Ingredients: Have a thorough understanding of the menu, including descriptions of dishes, ingredients, and allergen information. Be able to answer questions and provide recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions. Communication with Kitchen and Bar: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and bartenders to relay orders, special requests, and modifications accurately. Coordinate food and beverage service to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of food, utensils, and equipment. Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards, including clean uniform and hands. Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Assist colleagues as needed and contribute to a positive team environment. Customer Relationship Management: Build rapport with guests, address them by name when possible, and personalize their dining experience. Anticipate their needs and preferences, and go above and beyond to exceed their expectations.
