Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escort them to their tables, and provide menus. Assist guests with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests or preferences. Taking Orders: Take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Provide recommendations on menu items, specials, and beverages based on guest preferences and restaurant offerings. Serving Food and Beverages: Serve meals and beverages promptly and accurately according to order specifications. Coordinate with kitchen staff and bartenders to ensure timely delivery of food and drinks to tables. Knowledge of Menu and Specials: Have a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Describe menu items and specials to guests, answer questions, and make recommendations based on guest preferences. Upselling and Cross-Selling: Suggest additional items such as appetizers, desserts, or beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Promote restaurant specials, seasonal offerings, or promotional items to guests. Table Maintenance and Cleanliness: Monitor tables throughout the dining experience to ensure cleanliness, organization, and availability of necessary items (e.g., condiments, utensils, napkins). Clear used dishes, utensils, and glassware from tables promptly and reset tables for the next guests. Handling Guest Inquiries and Concerns: Address guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a professional and courteous manner. Collaborate with restaurant management or kitchen staff to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction. Processing Payments: Present and explain bills to guests, process payments (cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments), and provide accurate change. Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return to the restaurant. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with fellow waitstaff, kitchen staff, bartenders, and management to ensure efficient service and smooth operation of the restaurant. Communicate effectively with colleagues to relay guest preferences, special requests, and order details. Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Follow food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of food and beverages, sanitation of dining areas, and adherence to health regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas to uphold a safe and hygienic environment for guests and staff. Professional Appearance and Conduct: Maintain a neat and professional appearance, including wearing clean and appropriate attire as per restaurant guidelines.
