Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus. Assisting guests with seating arrangements and accommodating special requests or preferences. Taking Orders: Taking accurate food and beverage orders from guests, including special requests or dietary restrictions. Providing recommendations and descriptions of menu items to help guests make informed choices. Serving Food and Beverages: Delivering orders to tables promptly and accurately, ensuring that each dish meets quality standards. Serving beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and refilling glasses as needed. Customer Service: Ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction by anticipating guest needs, responding to queries, and resolving any issues or complaints promptly. Checking in with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and addressing any concerns. Table Maintenance: Monitoring and maintaining cleanliness and organization of tables, chairs, and dining areas throughout service. Setting tables with appropriate tableware, napkins, and condiments before guests arrive. Billing and Payment Processing: Presenting and explaining bills to guests, processing payments, and handling cash or card transactions accurately. Reconciling payments with orders and ensuring proper documentation for billing purposes. Collaboration with Kitchen and Bar: Communicating orders to the kitchen staff and bartenders, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of food and drinks. Coordinating with kitchen and bar team members to ensure efficient service and resolve any discrepancies. Upselling and Promotions: Suggesting additional menu items, specials, or promotions to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. Knowledgeably describing featured dishes, wines, or desserts to encourage upselling. Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Following food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of food, beverages, and serving equipment. Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment to meet health inspection standards. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborating with fellow waitstaff, kitchen crew, and management to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant. Communicating effectively with team members to relay guest requests, special instructions, or service updates. Knowledge of Menu and Restaurant Policies: Familiarizing yourself with the restaurant’s menu, daily specials, and beverage offerings. Understanding restaurant policies, including seating procedures, reservation policies, and service standards. Professionalism and Presentation: Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, including uniform standards and personal grooming.
