Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus. Assisting guests with seating arrangements and accommodating special requests whenever possible. Taking Orders: Taking food and beverage orders from guests in a courteous and efficient manner. Answering questions about menu items, making recommendations, and ensuring that guests' preferences and dietary restrictions are noted. Delivering Food and Beverages: Serving food and beverages to guests promptly and accurately. Carrying trays of food and drinks safely and balancing multiple orders during busy periods. Ensuring that each dish is presented attractively and matches the guests' orders. Checking on Guests: Checking in with guests periodically to ensure that they are satisfied with their meals and addressing any concerns or requests they may have. Anticipating needs and providing attentive service throughout the dining experience. Clearing Tables: Clearing tables of used dishes, glassware, and utensils efficiently and discreetly. Resetting tables with clean linens, silverware, and condiments for the next guests. Processing Payments: Presenting bills to guests, processing payments accurately, and handling cash, credit card transactions, and electronic payments securely. Providing receipts and thanking guests for their patronage. Assisting with Special Requests: Handling special requests from guests, such as arranging for birthday celebrations, accommodating seating preferences, or providing assistance to guests with mobility issues. Knowledge of Menu and Specials: Familiarizing yourself with the restaurant's menu items, daily specials, and beverage offerings. Being able to describe dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods accurately to guests. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborating with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other members of the restaurant team to ensure smooth and efficient service. Communicating guest preferences, special requests, and feedback to the kitchen and management team. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping work areas, dining areas, and restrooms clean and tidy at all times. Assisting with general cleaning tasks such as wiping tables, sweeping floors, and sanitizing surfaces as needed. Upselling and Promotions: Encouraging guests to try special menu items, promotions, or upsell items such as appetizers, desserts, or drinks. Making recommendations based on guests' preferences and menu offerings. Remaining Professional: Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Demonstrating politeness, patience, and professionalism in interactions with guests, colleagues, and management.
