Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Upselling and Recommending: Upsell additional menu items, beverages, or specials to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Recommend popular dishes, chef's specials, or wine pairings based on guest preferences and menu knowledge. Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver food and beverages to tables promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy in orders and presentation. Use tray service or carrying techniques to transport multiple items safely and securely. Table Maintenance: Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure guests have everything they need, including utensils, napkins, condiments, and refills. Clear empty plates, glasses, and used utensils from the table promptly to maintain a clean and organized dining environment. Anticipating Guest Needs: Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service by offering drink refills, checking for satisfaction, and addressing any issues or concerns promptly. Be attentive to guests' cues and body language to gauge their level of satisfaction. Handling Payments: Present and process guest checks accurately, including itemizing charges, applying discounts or promotions, and processing payments via cash, credit card, or other payment methods. Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return. Handling Special Requests: Accommodate special requests or modifications to menu items, such as dietary restrictions, allergies, or preparation preferences. Communicate special instructions to kitchen staff and ensure orders are prepared correctly. Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dining area, including tables, chairs, floors, and service stations. Reset tables efficiently between guests and ensure tabletops are clean and sanitized for the next seating. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other service team members to coordinate orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure smooth service flow. Communicate effectively with colleagues to address any issues or delays promptly. Knowledge of Menu and Specials: Stay informed about menu offerings, daily specials, and beverage selections to provide accurate information and recommendations to guests.
