Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive, assisting them with seating arrangements, and providing menus. You greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, offer assistance with seating preferences, and escort them to their tables. Taking Orders: Taking food and beverage orders from guests accurately and efficiently. You listen attentively to guests' preferences, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations based on their tastes and dietary restrictions. Entering Orders and Transmitting to Kitchen: Transmitting food and beverage orders to the kitchen or bar staff promptly. You enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately, ensure special requests or modifications are communicated clearly, and confirm order details with guests as needed. Serving Food and Beverages: Delivering food and beverages to guests' tables in a timely manner. You carry trays or plates with care, present dishes professionally, and ensure that orders are served correctly and attractively. Checking on Guests: Checking on guests periodically to ensure satisfaction with their meals and address any concerns. You inquire about meal quality, refill drinks, and offer additional condiments or accompaniments as needed. Handling Special Requests: Accommodating special requests or dietary restrictions from guests. You communicate special requests to kitchen or bar staff, ensure that orders are prepared correctly, and follow up with guests to confirm satisfaction. Upselling and Recommending: Upselling menu items and recommending additional items or upgrades to enhance the dining experience. You highlight daily specials, suggest wine pairings, and promote dessert or appetizer options to increase sales and guest satisfaction. Processing Payments: Presenting bills to guests, processing payments accurately, and providing change or receipts promptly. You handle cash transactions, credit card payments, and electronic payments securely and in compliance with restaurant policies. Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the dining area, including clearing tables, resetting tables, and cleaning spills or messes promptly. You ensure that dining tables are properly set and that the dining area is clean and inviting for guests. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other restaurant team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service. You communicate effectively with colleagues, assist with tasks as needed, and support a positive and cohesive team environment.
