Be prepared to answer questions, provide recommendations, and offer insights into menu items to assist guests with their selections. Taking Orders: Take food and beverage orders from guests accurately and efficiently. Listen attentively to guests' preferences, special requests, and dietary restrictions, and communicate orders clearly to the kitchen or bar staff. Upselling and Cross-Selling: Suggest additional menu items, appetizers, drinks, or desserts to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Use suggestive selling techniques to promote featured items or upsell premium selections. Order Accuracy: Verify the accuracy of orders before serving them to guests. Double-check items against the order ticket or POS system to ensure that all items are prepared correctly and meet guests' specifications. Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and professionally. Present dishes attractively, following established presentation standards, and ensure that all items are served at the correct temperature and in the appropriate sequence. Table Maintenance: Monitor tables throughout the dining experience, clearing empty plates, refilling drinks, and replenishing condiments as needed. Maintain table cleanliness and organization to create a comfortable and inviting dining environment. Anticipating Guest Needs: Anticipate guests' needs and proactively address them to enhance their dining experience. Offer additional napkins, utensils, or condiments, and provide timely assistance with requests or inquiries. Handling Payments: Present the check to guests, process payments accurately, and provide receipts promptly. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and electronic payments securely, following established cash handling procedures. Handling Guest Complaints: Address guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, seeking resolution to ensure guest satisfaction. Listen actively, empathize with guests' concerns, and collaborate with management or kitchen staff to resolve issues effectively. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other front-of-house team members to ensure smooth and efficient service. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate orders, address guest requests, and maintain service standards. Maintaining Cleanliness: Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including wiping down tables, chairs, and surfaces, and keeping the dining room tidy and presentable.
