Greeting Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escort them to their tables, and provide menus. Greet guests warmly, introduce yourself, and inquire about their dining preferences or special requests. Taking Orders: Take food and beverage orders from guests, accurately recording their selections and any modifications or dietary restrictions. Provide recommendations and descriptions of menu items, and answer questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and menu specials. Serving Food and Drinks: Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and courteously, following proper serving etiquette and presentation standards. Ensure that orders are delivered accurately and efficiently, and coordinate with kitchen staff and bartenders as needed. Checking on Guests: Check in with guests periodically to ensure that they are satisfied with their meals and dining experience. Address any concerns, refill drinks, and offer additional service or assistance to enhance guest satisfaction. Handling Payments: Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and provide receipts. Accept cash, credit/debit cards, or other forms of payment, and return change or process transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system. Upselling and Promotion: Recommend additional menu items, appetizers, desserts, or beverages to guests to increase sales and enhance their dining experience. Highlight specials, promotions, or featured dishes to encourage guests to try new items. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep dining areas clean and tidy throughout service by clearing tables, wiping surfaces, and resetting tables for the next guests. Ensure that table settings, utensils, and condiments are well-stocked and presented neatly. Communication with Kitchen: Communicate guest orders and special requests accurately and promptly to kitchen staff. Coordinate timing and pacing of food delivery to ensure that meals are served hot, fresh, and in the correct order. Adhering to Health and Safety Standards: Follow food safety guidelines, hygiene standards, and health regulations to maintain a safe and sanitary dining environment. Practice proper handwashing, food handling, and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and foodborne illness. Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other waitstaff, kitchen staff, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues and support each other to deliver exceptional service as a team. Handling Guest Feedback: Listen attentively to guest feedback, comments, and suggestions, and respond professionally and empathetically. Address any complaints or issues promptly, offer solutions or alternatives, and escalate concerns to management if necessary. Professionalism and Appearance: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, adhering to dress code policies and grooming standards.
