Provide menus and inform guests of any specials or promotions. Taking Orders: Take food and beverage orders from guests, accurately noting any special requests or dietary restrictions. Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Order Communication: Transmit orders to the kitchen staff or bar staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Communicate any modifications or special requests made by guests to the kitchen or bar. Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver food and beverages to guests' tables in a prompt and efficient manner. Ensure that orders are presented correctly, and verify that guests receive the items they ordered. Check Management: Present the check to guests at the appropriate time, offering dessert or additional beverages if desired. Process payment transactions accurately, handling cash, credit cards, or electronic payments as needed. Table Maintenance: Monitor tables throughout the meal service, clearing empty dishes, refilling beverages, and providing additional condiments or utensils as needed. Reset tables promptly for the next guests. Customer Interaction: Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions, concerns, or requests they may have. Anticipate guests' needs and provide attentive service to enhance their dining experience. Upselling and Promotion: Suggest additional menu items, appetizers, desserts, or beverages to guests to increase sales and enhance their dining experience. Promote specials, featured dishes, or seasonal offerings as appropriate. Knowledge of Menu and Ingredients: Have a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles. Be able to provide detailed descriptions of menu items and accommodate guests with allergies or dietary restrictions. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth coordination of service. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure that orders are prepared and delivered accurately and efficiently. Problem Resolution: Address any issues or complaints from guests promptly and professionally. Apologize for any inconvenience and take appropriate actions to resolve problems and ensure guest satisfaction. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the dining area clean and tidy throughout the service period, including wiping down tables, chairs, and menus. Assist with general cleaning tasks as needed to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
