Pre-production Planning: Collaborating with clients, directors, and producers to understand the project requirements, objectives, and creative vision. This includes discussing shot lists, locations, equipment needs, and scheduling. Camera Operation: Using professional video cameras and related equipment, you'll capture high-quality video footage according to the project's specifications. This involves setting up shots, adjusting camera settings (such as exposure, focus, and white balance), framing shots creatively, and ensuring smooth camera movements. Audio Recording: In addition to video, you'll also be responsible for capturing high-quality audio using microphones and audio recording equipment. This may involve recording dialogue, ambient sound, music performances, or other audio elements needed for the project. Lighting Setup: Depending on the shooting location and conditions, you may need to set up and adjust lighting equipment to achieve the desired look and mood for the video. This includes positioning lights, using light modifiers, and balancing natural and artificial light sources. Monitoring and Playback: During filming, you'll monitor the video and audio feeds to ensure technical quality and consistency. You may also review playback footage on set to assess performances, framing, and continuity. Problem Solving: Throughout the production process, you'll need to troubleshoot technical issues, adapt to changing conditions, and find creative solutions to challenges that arise on set. Post-production Support: While your primary role is capturing footage during production, you may also assist with post-production tasks such as logging footage, organizing files, and providing input during the editing process. Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining and caring for your equipment is essential to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This includes cleaning lenses, checking batteries, updating firmware, and scheduling regular maintenance as needed.
