Job description

Pre-Production Planning: Collaborating with clients, directors, producers, or other stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and creative vision. This involves participating in brainstorming sessions, scouting locations, and creating shot lists or storyboards to plan the shoot. Camera Operation: Operating video cameras, DSLRs, or other recording equipment to capture high-quality footage according to the project specifications. This includes setting up cameras, adjusting settings such as exposure, focus, and white balance, and framing shots creatively to convey the desired mood or message. Audio Recording: Recording high-quality audio using external microphones, lavaliers, or wireless systems to capture clear and crisp sound. This involves positioning microphones strategically, monitoring audio levels, and minimizing background noise or interference during recording. Lighting Setup: Setting up and adjusting lighting equipment such as LED panels, softboxes, or reflectors to achieve the desired lighting effects and enhance visual quality. This includes controlling light intensity, direction, and color temperature to create mood, depth, and dimension in the footage. On-Location Shooting: Conducting on-location shoots in various environments such as studios, outdoor settings, or event venues. This involves coordinating with talent, crew, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and adherence to the shooting schedule. Action Capture: Capturing dynamic action sequences, performances, or events as they unfold in real-time. This requires anticipation, quick reflexes, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions to capture key moments and emotions effectively. B-Roll Footage: Shooting supplementary B-roll footage to provide context, visual interest, and variety in the final edit. This includes capturing establishing shots, close-ups, and cutaways to complement the main narrative and enhance storytelling. Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring proper maintenance and care of video equipment, including cameras, lenses, tripods, and accessories. This involves cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting equipment issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability on shoots. Post-Production Support: Providing support to video editors or post-production teams by organizing and transferring footage, logging shots, and providing input on editing decisions. This helps streamline the post-production process and ensure consistency in the final edit. Continuous Learning and Skill Development: Staying updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in videography. This involves attending workshops, training programs, and networking events to expand your skills, knowledge, and professional network.
