Tyre Retreading Job in Pathanamthitta

Pathanamthitta, Kerala Full Time Date: 06 June 2024

Job description

Initial Inspection: The first step in the retreading process involves inspecting the worn tire to assess its condition and suitability for retreading. Tire technicians examine the tire for signs of damage, such as cuts, punctures, or sidewall damage, and evaluate the overall condition of the tire carcass. Buffing: Once the tire has been deemed suitable for retreading, the old tread is removed using a buffing machine. This machine shaves off the worn tread layer and prepares the surface of the tire for the application of new tread material. Buffing also helps to roughen the surface of the tire to enhance adhesion with the new tread. Skiving: In some cases, skiving may be performed to remove any remaining traces of old tread material and ensure a smooth and uniform surface for the application of the new tread. Repair and Reinforcement: Any damage or irregularities found during the inspection process are repaired, and additional reinforcement may be added to strengthen the tire carcass. This helps to ensure the integrity and safety of the retreaded tire. Application of New Tread: The new tread material is applied to the prepared tire carcass using specialized equipment. The tread material is typically made from rubber compounds that are specifically designed for retreading purposes. The new tread is bonded to the tire carcass using heat and pressure to create a strong and durable bond. Curing: Once the new tread has been applied, the tire undergoes a curing process to bond the tread to the tire carcass permanently. Curing is typically done in a specialized chamber or autoclave where the tire is subjected to heat and pressure for a specific period. Final Inspection: After curing, the retreaded tire undergoes a final inspection to ensure that it meets quality standards and specifications. Tire technicians check for any defects, irregularities, or imperfections in the retreaded tire and make any necessary adjustments or repairs. Trimming and Finishing: Any excess tread material is trimmed away, and the retreaded tire is finished to remove any rough edges or protrusions. The tire is then ready for mounting and use on a vehicle.
