Tyre Retreading Job in Mallappally

Mallappally, Kerala Full Time Date: 15 May 2024

Job description

Initial Inspection: The worn tire casing undergoes a thorough inspection to assess its condition and suitability for retreading. This includes checking for damage, punctures, sidewall integrity, and overall structural integrity. Casing that meets retreading criteria is then selected for the process. Buffing: The old tread is removed from the tire casing using a buffing machine. This process scours away the remaining tread rubber, exposing the underlying casing material and creating a smooth, uniform surface for the new tread to adhere to. Repair and Reinforcement: Any damage or imperfections in the tire casing are repaired and reinforced as needed. This may involve patching punctures, filling in gouges or cuts, and reinforcing weak areas to ensure the structural integrity of the casing. Application of New Tread: A new layer of tread rubber is applied to the buffed tire casing using specialized machinery and adhesives. The tread pattern and depth are customized based on the intended application of the retreaded tire, such as highway, off-road, or commercial use. Curing: The retreaded tire undergoes a curing process to bond the new tread rubber to the tire casing. This typically involves placing the tire in a curing chamber or autoclave, where heat and pressure are applied to activate the bonding agents and vulcanize the rubber, ensuring a strong and durable bond. Final Inspection: Once the curing process is complete, the retreaded tire undergoes a final inspection to ensure quality and safety standards are met. This includes checking for proper tread alignment, tread depth, adhesion, and overall appearance. Trimming and Finishing: Excess rubber is trimmed from the edges of the retreaded tire, and any finishing touches, such as sidewall markings or branding, are applied as needed. Quality Assurance: Retreaded tires undergo rigorous quality control checks to ensure that they meet industry standards for safety, performance, and durability. This includes testing for air retention, balance, and overall structural integrity. Installation and Use: Once approved, retreaded tires are mounted onto vehicle wheels and balanced before being put back into service. Proper maintenance and monitoring are essential to ensure the continued performance and longevity of retreaded tires.
