Job Duties include inspection of tires and grading of casings, buffing the tire and preparing rubber for retreading, removal of worn tire tread, preparation of tire casing, installation of new tread,… Visually inspect tires to be retreaded to determine condition. Perform various shop duties as assigned. Receive and unload supplies including tread rubber, cushion gum and repair materials, envelopes, curing rim, tire casings, rims, etc. Maintain a safe facility and use safety first practices to remain accident-free. A worn casing of a tyre that has a good structural quality is taken off the car and is given renewed tread and sidewall rubber. The revamped tyre is then put through a curing process that causes the new rubber to vulcanise to the original casing. The result is a new tyre with a new tread pattern.
