Tyre Retreading Job in Kottayam

Kottayam, Kerala Full Time Date: 22 May 2024

Job description

Inspection: The first step in the retreading process is a thorough inspection of the tire casing to assess its condition and suitability for retreading. Casings with excessive wear, damage, or structural defects may not be suitable for retreading and are typically discarded. Buffing: Once a suitable casing is selected, the old tread is removed from the tire through a process called buffing. A specialized buffing machine is used to remove the worn tread and prepare the surface of the casing for the application of new tread rubber. Repair and Reinforcement: Any damage or imperfections in the casing, such as cuts, punctures, or sidewall damage, are repaired and reinforced as needed. This ensures that the casing is structurally sound and capable of supporting the new tread. Application of New Tread: The prepared casing is coated with bonding agents and then covered with a new layer of tread rubber. The tread pattern and depth are selected based on the intended use of the tire and customer preferences. The new tread is applied using specialized machinery that ensures uniformity and precision. Curing: The newly applied tread is cured onto the casing using heat and pressure in a process called vulcanization. This process bonds the tread rubber to the casing, creating a strong and durable bond that can withstand the rigors of road use. Final Inspection: Once the retreading process is complete, the tire undergoes a final inspection to ensure that the tread is properly applied, the casing is free of defects, and the tire meets quality standards. Any remaining imperfections are addressed, and the tire is prepared for return to service. Quality Assurance: Tyre retreading facilities typically adhere to strict quality control standards and follow industry best practices to ensure the safety and reliability of retreaded tires. Quality assurance measures may include regular testing, certification, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
