Tyre Retreading Job in Idukki

Idukki, Kerala Full Time Date: 27 May 2024

Job description

Initial Inspection: The worn tire undergoes a thorough inspection to assess its overall condition and determine if it's suitable for retreading. This inspection checks for structural integrity, sidewall damage, punctures, and other factors that may affect the retreading process. Buffing: The worn tread and any surface irregularities on the tire are removed using a specialized buffing machine. This process smooths the surface of the tire and prepares it for the application of new tread material. Skiving: If necessary, any remaining traces of old tread material or foreign objects are removed from the tire surface using a skiving tool. This ensures a clean and uniform surface for the new tread to adhere to. Application of New Tread: Fresh layers of tread rubber are applied to the buffed tire casing using a combination of heat, pressure, and adhesive. The new tread material is typically made of high-quality rubber compounds designed to provide traction, durability, and resistance to wear. Curing: The tire undergoes a curing process in a specialized chamber known as a curing chamber or autoclave. During curing, heat and pressure are applied to bond the new tread to the tire casing and vulcanize the rubber, ensuring a strong and durable bond. Final Inspection: Once the retreading process is complete, the tire undergoes a final inspection to verify that the new tread is securely bonded to the casing and that the retreaded tire meets quality standards. This inspection checks for any defects, irregularities, or areas of concern. Trimming and Finishing: Any excess tread material is trimmed away, and the retreaded tire is finished to ensure a smooth and uniform appearance. This may involve buffing the tread edges, applying sidewall markings, and performing any final touches to enhance the tire's aesthetics and performance. Quality Control: Throughout the retreading process, quality control measures are implemented to ensure that retreaded tires meet industry standards for safety, performance, and durability. This may include testing the integrity of the bond between the tread and casing, measuring tread depth and uniformity, and conducting visual inspections for defects. Packaging and Distribution: Once retreading is complete and quality control checks are passed, the retreaded tires are packaged and prepared for distribution to customers. Proper packaging and handling procedures are followed to protect the tires during transportation and storage.
