Job description

Tire Installation: Mounting and installing new tires onto vehicles using specialized equipment such as tire changers, wheel balancers, and alignment machines. Tyre fitters ensure that tires are properly seated on the wheel rims and securely fastened to the vehicle. Tire Removal: Removing worn-out or damaged tires from vehicles, inspecting them for signs of wear or damage, and determining if they need replacement. Tyre fitters use tire irons or bead breakers to demount tires from wheel rims safely. Tire Inspection and Diagnosis: Inspecting tires for signs of wear, damage, or irregularities such as punctures, cuts, bulges, or uneven tread wear. Tyre fitters identify tire issues and assess whether tires can be repaired or need to be replaced. Tire Repair: Performing tire repairs such as patching punctures, plugging leaks, or fixing small damages to tires. Tyre fitters use repair kits, vulcanizing equipment, and patching materials to restore tire integrity and safety. Wheel Balancing: Balancing tire and wheel assemblies to ensure even weight distribution and prevent vibration and uneven tire wear. Tyre fitters use wheel balancers to detect imbalances and add counterweights to balance the tire and wheel assembly. Wheel Alignment: Assisting with wheel alignment procedures by preparing vehicles for alignment, positioning them on alignment racks, and adjusting wheel angles as directed by alignment technicians or mechanics. Tyre fitters may also perform basic alignment checks using alignment equipment. Tire Rotation: Rotating tires at regular intervals to promote even tread wear and extend tire life.
