Job description

Tire Installation: Mount and dismount tires onto vehicle wheels using appropriate equipment and techniques. Ensure that tires are properly seated on the wheel rims and that lug nuts or bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications. Tire Balancing: Perform wheel balancing to ensure that the weight distribution around the wheel and tire assembly is uniform. Use a balancing machine to identify and correct any imbalances by adding or removing weights as needed. Tire Rotation: Rotate tires at regular intervals to promote even tread wear and extend tire lifespan. Follow recommended rotation patterns based on factors such as tire type, vehicle configuration, and driving conditions. Tire Repair: Inspect tires for damage, such as punctures, cuts, or bulges, and perform repairs as needed. Patch or plug small punctures, and assess more extensive damage to determine if tire replacement is necessary. Tire Maintenance: Check tire pressure, tread depth, and overall condition during routine maintenance inspections. Inflate tires to the recommended pressure levels and advise customers on proper tire care and maintenance practices. Wheel Alignment: Assist with wheel alignment procedures by positioning vehicles on alignment racks and performing initial alignment checks. Communicate alignment findings to alignment technicians or service advisors for further assessment and adjustment. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their tire-related concerns, questions, and service requests. Provide accurate information and guidance on tire selection, installation options, and maintenance recommendations. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate tire fitting and balancing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment components for signs of wear or damage. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage. Use personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety goggles, and hearing protection, when performing tire fitting and service tasks. Documentation and Record Keeping: Complete service records, work orders, and other documentation accurately and legibly. Record details of tire services performed, including tire specifications, measurements, and any additional service recommendations. Continuous Training and Development: Stay informed about tire technology advancements, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Obtain relevant certifications or credentials to enhance knowledge and skills in tire fitting and service techniques.
