Knowledge of Tea: Having a comprehensive understanding of different types of tea, including black, green, oolong, white, and herbal teas. Familiarizing yourself with the characteristics, flavors, and brewing methods of each type of tea to provide informed recommendations to customers. Tea Brewing Techniques: Mastering the art of brewing tea using various methods such as steeping, boiling, or using a tea infuser or teapot. Understanding the ideal brewing temperature and steeping time for different types of tea to achieve optimal flavor and aroma. Customer Service: Interacting with customers to understand their tea preferences, including their choice of tea type, strength, sweetness, and any additional flavorings or milk they prefer. Providing personalized recommendations and accommodating special requests to ensure customer satisfaction. Tea Presentation: Presenting tea in an aesthetically pleasing manner, whether served in teacups, mugs, or teapots. Garnishing tea with lemon slices, mint leaves, or other decorative elements to enhance its visual appeal and create a delightful sensory experience for the customer. Quality Control: Ensuring the quality and freshness of tea leaves or tea bags used for brewing. Checking for any signs of staleness, mold, or other defects and promptly replacing them with fresh supplies to maintain the integrity and flavor of the tea. Cleaning and Maintenance: Keeping tea-making equipment, such as teapots, tea infusers, and brewing vessels, clean and well-maintained. Washing utensils thoroughly after each use to prevent cross-contamination and ensure hygiene standards are upheld. Knowledge of Tea Accessories: Familiarizing yourself with various tea accessories such as tea strainers, infusers, pots, and kettles. Understanding how to use these accessories effectively to enhance the tea-making process and provide a seamless customer experience. Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to detail when brewing tea, including measuring tea leaves or bags accurately, monitoring water temperature and steeping time precisely, and adjusting brewing parameters as needed to achieve the desired flavor profile. Team Collaboration: Collaborating effectively with other staff members, such as servers and kitchen staff, to coordinate tea orders and ensure timely service. Communicating any special requests or preferences from customers to the relevant team members to ensure seamless execution. Continuous Learning: Staying updated on new tea varieties, brewing techniques, and industry trends through research, training, and participation in tea-related events or workshops.
