Job description

Constructing Tandoors: Building tandoors from scratch or assembling pre-made components, including the clay oven chamber, insulation layers, and metal fittings. This may involve shaping and molding clay, applying insulating materials, and installing heating elements. Maintaining Tandoors: Inspecting tandoors for damage, wear, or malfunction and performing repairs or replacements as needed to ensure they are in good working condition. This may include patching cracks, replacing worn-out parts, and resealing joints. Installing Tandoors: Installing tandoors in commercial kitchens, restaurants, or outdoor cooking areas, ensuring they are properly positioned, secured, and connected to ventilation systems or gas lines if applicable. Operating Tandoors: Operating tandoors to cook a variety of foods, such as bread (naan, roti), meats (kebabs, tandoori chicken), and vegetables. This involves controlling the temperature and airflow inside the tandoor to achieve the desired cooking results. Preparing Tandoor Dishes: Preparing marinades, seasonings, and other ingredients for cooking in the tandoor, and skewering or placing them inside the oven for grilling or baking. Monitoring the cooking process and adjusting as needed to ensure food is cooked evenly and to perfection. Cleaning and Maintenance: Cleaning tandoors regularly to remove food residue, grease, and ash buildup, and maintaining proper ventilation to prevent smoke accumulation. This may involve scrubbing surfaces, scraping off carbon deposits, and replacing worn-out components. Safety Compliance: Ensuring that tandoors meet safety and health regulations, including fire safety standards, ventilation requirements, and food handling practices. Implementing measures to prevent accidents, injuries, or foodborne illnesses associated with tandoor cooking. Training and Education: Providing training and guidance to kitchen staff on how to safely and effectively use tandoors for cooking various dishes.
