Job description

Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and counseling to students who may be experiencing stress, homesickness, academic pressure, or other personal challenges. Create a safe and confidential space for students to express their feelings and concerns. Academic Advising: Provide academic advising and guidance to students regarding course selection, study strategies, time management, and academic goal-setting. Help students develop academic plans and overcome academic obstacles. Career Counseling: Assist students in exploring career interests, identifying career goals, and planning career paths. Provide information about internships, job opportunities, and career development resources available within the resort or in the local area. Personal Development: Facilitate personal development workshops, seminars, or activities focused on topics such as leadership development, communication skills, conflict resolution, and cultural awareness. Empower students to develop essential life skills and competencies. Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to respond to crisis situations and emergencies, such as accidents, medical emergencies, or mental health crises. Follow established protocols for crisis intervention, including contacting appropriate authorities or medical professionals if necessary. Referral Services: Maintain a network of referral resources, including mental health professionals, medical providers, academic support services, and community organizations. Refer students to external resources when specialized assistance is needed beyond your scope of practice. Community Building: Foster a sense of community and belonging among students by organizing social events, networking opportunities, and peer support groups. Encourage collaboration, mutual respect, and inclusivity within the student community. Advocacy and Support: Advocate for students' needs and rights within the resort community. Serve as a liaison between students and resort management, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and advocating for student-friendly policies and initiatives. Educational Programming: Develop and implement educational programs, workshops, or seminars on topics relevant to students' academic, personal, and career development needs. Collaborate with resort staff and external experts to deliver engaging and informative programming. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student counseling sessions, assessments, and referrals. Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements regarding confidentiality and privacy of student information. Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices, trends, and developments in student counseling, higher education, and related fields. Participate in professional development activities, training workshops, and conferences to enhance counseling skills and knowledge. Evaluation and Feedback: Solicit feedback from students regarding counseling services, programs, and resources. Use student feedback to assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make adjustments to counseling services as needed.
