Job description

Managing Staff: You recruit, train, supervise, and motivate store staff members, including sales associates, cashiers, and stock clerks. You delegate tasks, set performance targets, and provide guidance and support to ensure high levels of productivity and customer service. Customer Service: You ensure that customers receive excellent service by greeting them, addressing their inquiries or concerns, and resolving any issues promptly and satisfactorily. You lead by example in providing exceptional customer service and instill a customer-focused culture among staff. Sales and Revenue Generation: You set sales targets and develop strategies to achieve them. This may involve implementing promotional campaigns, upselling or cross-selling products, and optimizing merchandise displays to drive sales and maximize revenue. Inventory Management: You oversee inventory levels, ordering, and replenishment to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize out-of-stock situations. You conduct regular stock counts, monitor inventory turnover, and identify slow-moving or obsolete items for clearance. Visual Merchandising: You oversee the visual presentation of merchandise in the store to attract customers and enhance the shopping experience. This includes arranging displays, signage, and promotional materials to highlight featured products and seasonal offerings. Store Operations: You ensure the smooth operation of all store functions, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, security, and cleanliness. You enforce store policies and procedures to maintain a safe and organized environment for customers and staff. Budgeting and Expense Management: You develop and manage the store budget, tracking expenses and revenues to ensure profitability. You identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate vendor contracts, and control overhead expenses to maximize profitability. Staff Training and Development: You provide ongoing training and development opportunities for store staff to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service abilities. You conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to help staff members grow and succeed in their roles. Compliance and Safety: You ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including those related to labor, health and safety, and retail operations. You maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and staff by implementing security measures and emergency procedures. Reporting and Communication: You prepare regular reports on store performance, including sales figures, inventory levels, and customer feedback. You communicate store goals, objectives, and performance metrics to staff members, upper management, and other stakeholders.
