Job description

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and track stock movements using inventory management software or manual recordkeeping systems. Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing goods, including quantities, descriptions, and dates. Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, deliveries, and supplies from vendors and suppliers. Inspect goods for quality, quantity, and condition, and verify that they match purchase orders or packing slips. Storage and Organization: Store goods in designated storage areas within the warehouse or storeroom. Organize inventory based on factors such as product type, size, and shelf life to optimize space and accessibility. Stock Rotation: Implement stock rotation procedures to ensure that older inventory is used or sold before newer inventory. Rotate stock based on expiration dates, shelf life, or first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles to minimize waste and spoilage. Picking and Packing: Fulfill requests for goods and materials from internal departments or external customers. Pick items from inventory, pack them securely for transport, and prepare them for shipment or delivery according to order specifications. Shipping and Dispatch: Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packing slips for outgoing shipments. Coordinate with logistics providers or carriers to arrange transportation and ensure timely delivery of goods to their destination. Inventory Audits and Stocktaking: Conduct regular inventory audits and physical stock counts to reconcile inventory records with actual stock on hand. Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and take corrective actions to resolve issues. Quality Control: Monitor the quality and condition of stored goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations. Inspect goods for damage, defects, or signs of deterioration, and take appropriate actions to address quality concerns. Supplier Relations: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and product specifications to ensure smooth procurement processes. Safety and Security: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment in the warehouse or storeroom. Implement security measures, such as access controls and surveillance systems, to prevent theft, loss, or damage to inventory. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently. Perform routine maintenance checks, inspections, and repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning. Documentation and Reporting: Generate reports, summaries, and documentation related to inventory management activities. Provide regular updates to management on inventory levels, stock movements, and performance metrics to support decision-making.
