Job description

Inventory Management: Overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods, materials, and supplies. Keeping track of inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained at all times. Receiving and Inspection: Receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and inspecting goods for quality, quantity, and condition. Notifying suppliers of any discrepancies or damages and processing returns or replacements as necessary. Storage and Organization: Organizing and maintaining storage areas, warehouses, or stockrooms to maximize space utilization and facilitate efficient access to goods. Ensuring proper storage conditions, such as temperature control and humidity levels, for perishable or sensitive items. Stock Replenishment: Monitoring inventory levels and initiating replenishment orders to prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Collaborating with purchasing or procurement teams to place orders with suppliers based on demand forecasts and lead times. Inventory Control: Implementing inventory control measures to track stock movements, minimize shrinkage, and prevent loss or theft. Conducting regular stock counts, cycle counts, or physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies and ensure data accuracy. Issuance and Distribution: Fulfilling internal requisitions or customer orders by picking, packing, and dispatching goods in a timely manner. Recording issuance transactions accurately and updating inventory records accordingly. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of inventory transactions, receipts, issuances, and stock movements. Generating reports, such as inventory turnover, stock aging, and reorder point analysis, to support decision-making and planning. Quality Control: Ensuring that goods received and dispatched meet quality standards and specifications. Conducting quality checks, inspections, or sampling as required and documenting any non-conformities or deviations. Safety and Compliance: Adhering to safety regulations, storage guidelines, and handling procedures for hazardous or flammable materials. Following compliance requirements related to inventory management, such as FIFO (first in, first out) or LIFO (last in, first out) principles. Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining and operating equipment used in the storage and handling of goods, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and storage racks. Performing routine inspections, servicing, and repairs to ensure equipment reliability and safety. Communication and Coordination: Collaborating with other departments, such as purchasing, logistics, production, and sales, to coordinate inventory-related activities and resolve issues or concerns. Communicating effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding inventory matters. Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or efficiency gains in inventory management practices. Implementing best practices, technology solutions, or automation tools to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
