Job description

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all items stored in the resort's inventory, including food and beverage supplies, linens, cleaning supplies, amenities, and equipment. Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and conduct regular stock audits to prevent shortages or overstocking. Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments of goods from vendors, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders. Inspect items for damage, expiration dates, or other issues and promptly report any discrepancies to the purchasing department or suppliers. Storage and Organization: Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items within the resort's storage facilities. Utilize appropriate storage methods, shelving systems, and labeling techniques to optimize space utilization and facilitate easy access to stored items. Issuance and Distribution: Fulfill internal requisitions for inventory items from various resort departments, including food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services. Prepare and distribute inventory items in a timely manner, ensuring accurate quantities and documentation. Stock Rotation and FIFO: Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles to manage inventory rotation and minimize waste due to spoilage or obsolescence. Rotate stock regularly to ensure older items are used or sold before newer ones. Inventory Control Systems: Utilize inventory management software or manual record-keeping systems to track inventory transactions, update stock levels, and generate reports. Maintain accurate records of receipts, issuances, adjustments, and inventory balances. Quality Control: Monitor the quality and condition of inventory items, including perishable goods, to ensure they meet the resort's standards for freshness, hygiene, and safety. Implement proper storage conditions, such as temperature control and humidity management, to preserve product quality. Stock Replenishment: Forecast inventory needs based on consumption patterns, seasonal trends, and anticipated demand. Place orders with suppliers to replenish stock levels in a timely manner, taking into account lead times, delivery schedules, and budget constraints. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and delivery arrangements. Communicate effectively with vendors regarding order specifications, delivery instructions, and quality requirements. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and storage guidelines for inventory items. Implement proper handling procedures for hazardous or perishable goods to minimize risks to staff and guests. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean storage facilities, shelving units, and equipment used for inventory management, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and storage bins. Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other resort departments, including purchasing, accounting, and operations, to coordinate inventory-related activities and support operational needs. Communicate effectively with department heads and staff to address inventory requirements and resolve issues or concerns.
