Cleaning and Maintenance: Stewards are responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas, such as dining rooms, kitchens, public areas, and guest rooms. This includes tasks like vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting furniture, and cleaning windows. Dishwashing and Kitchen Support: In restaurant settings or aboard ships, stewards often assist in dishwashing and kitchen duties. This can involve washing dishes, pots, and utensils, as well as helping with food preparation and storage. Table Setting and Service: Stewards may assist with setting tables before meals, ensuring that all necessary utensils, napkins, and tableware are arranged appropriately. During service, they may serve beverages, clear tables between courses, and assist guests as needed. Laundry Services: Some stewards may be responsible for handling laundry services, including washing, ironing, folding, and distributing clean linens and towels. Inventory Control: Stewards may keep track of inventory levels for cleaning supplies, linens, and other hospitality-related items, and notify supervisors when stocks need to be replenished. Guest Assistance: Stewards may assist guests with requests such as providing extra amenities, answering questions about facilities or services, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
