Job description

Inventory Management: Stock Control: Monitor and maintain optimal levels of spare parts inventory to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock and obsolete items. Inventory Tracking: Use inventory management software or systems to track stock levels, reorder points, and movement of parts in and out of the warehouse or store. Cycle Counts: Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies. Procurement and Purchasing: Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and negotiate favorable terms and pricing. Order Processing: Place orders for parts based on inventory levels, customer requests, and service department needs. Monitor order status and resolve any issues with deliveries. Sales and Customer Service: Customer Interaction: Assist customers in identifying and purchasing the right parts for their vehicles. Provide product recommendations, pricing information, and availability. Order Fulfillment: Process customer orders, prepare invoices, and coordinate with the service department or customers for timely pickup or delivery of parts. Returns and Exchanges: Handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims for defective or incorrect parts. Ensure compliance with return policies and procedures. Documentation and Reporting: Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, sales, purchases, and customer interactions using database systems or software. Reporting: Generate reports on inventory levels, sales performance, profitability, and parts aging. Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures. Team Supervision and Training: Staff Management: Supervise parts department staff, including parts clerks, warehouse personnel, and delivery drivers. Assign tasks, provide training, and monitor performance. Workflow Coordination: Ensure efficient workflow and collaboration between parts department staff, service advisors, technicians, and other departments. Compliance and Safety: Safety Standards: Maintain a safe working environment in the parts department, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials (e.g., oils, batteries). Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies related to parts sales, disposal, and recycling. Skills and Qualifications: Automotive Parts Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of automotive parts, components, part numbers, and compatibility across different vehicle makes and models. Inventory Control: Proficiency in inventory management practices, including forecasting, ordering, and maintaining stock levels. Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, address inquiries, and provide solutions to meet their parts needs.
