Cooking Techniques: Mastering traditional cooking methods such as tempering (tadka), grinding spices, making masalas, and using traditional utensils like brass vessels and iron skillets. Recipe Execution: Following authentic recipes for popular South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, sambar, rasam, vadas, biryanis, and various curries. Flavor Balance: Ensuring the correct balance of spices, herbs, and seasoning to achieve authentic flavors and enhance the taste of dishes. Presentation: Paying attention to food presentation and garnishing to create visually appealing dishes that meet culinary standards. Kitchen Management: Organizing and managing kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Following food safety regulations and hygiene practices to ensure safe handling and preparation of food. Creativity and Innovation: Occasionally experimenting with new ingredients or techniques to create innovative South Indian dishes while maintaining authenticity.
