Job description

Installation: Install solar panels, mounting racks, inverters, and balance of system components on rooftops, ground mounts, or other structures. Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and orientation of solar panels for maximum sunlight exposure and energy production. Electrical Wiring: Connect solar panels, inverters, and other system components using electrical wiring, conduit, connectors, and junction boxes. Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to ensure safe and reliable electrical connections. Rooftop Assessment: Assess rooftops or other installation sites for structural integrity, load-bearing capacity, and suitability for solar panel installation. Identify potential obstacles, shading issues, and safety hazards that may impact solar system performance. Inverter Installation: Install and configure solar inverters, charge controllers, and power conditioning units to convert DC (direct current) power generated by solar panels into AC (alternating current) power for use in residential, commercial, or industrial applications. Battery Backup Systems: Install, connect, and configure battery backup systems, energy storage units, and grid-tied or off-grid battery banks to store excess solar energy for use during periods of low sunlight or power outages. System Testing: Perform functional tests, voltage measurements, and system checks to verify the operation and performance of solar energy systems. Test individual components, subsystems, and overall system functionality to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning solar panels, checking connections, and inspecting system components for wear or damage. Troubleshoot system malfunctions, electrical faults, and performance issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, and industry best practices when working with solar energy systems and electrical equipment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection gear, and safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries. Quality Assurance: Ensure that solar installations meet quality standards, industry regulations, and manufacturer specifications. Conduct quality checks, inspections, and post-installation assessments to verify compliance and customer satisfaction. Customer Service: Interact with customers, project managers, and stakeholders in a professional manner. Provide technical assistance, answer questions, and address concerns regarding solar system operation, performance, and maintenance. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of solar installations, service calls, maintenance activities, and warranty information. Document system configurations, equipment specifications, and installation details for reference and future service. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in solar technology, installation techniques, and industry trends.
