Job description

Curriculum Development: Designing and developing lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards and educational objectives for teaching various branches of social science such as history, geography, civics, economics, sociology, and anthropology. Instruction: Delivering engaging and effective social science instruction to students of varying ages and proficiency levels, covering topics such as historical events, geographic features, government systems, economic principles, societal structures, cultural practices, and human behavior. Classroom Management: Establishing and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to critical thinking, inquiry, and discussion, and managing student behavior to promote respect, cooperation, and participation. Active Learning Strategies: Implementing a variety of active learning strategies and instructional methods such as group discussions, debates, simulations, role-playing, case studies, and project-based learning activities to enhance student engagement and comprehension. Assessment and Feedback: Assessing student understanding and progress through various methods such as tests, quizzes, essays, projects, presentations, and class participation, and providing timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and growth in social science. Critical Thinking and Analysis: Promoting critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and historical and social inquiry skills by encouraging students to analyze primary and secondary sources, evaluate different perspectives, and draw evidence-based conclusions. Global Awareness: Fostering global awareness and cultural competence by exploring diverse societies, cultures, and global issues, and encouraging students to understand the interconnectedness of the world and their role as global citizens. Civic Education: Providing opportunities for students to learn about democratic principles, civic responsibilities, human rights, social justice, and participatory citizenship, and encouraging them to actively engage in civic life and contribute to positive social change. Interdisciplinary Connections: Making connections between social science and other disciplines such as language arts, mathematics, science, and the arts, to help students understand the interdisciplinary nature of social phenomena and their relevance to everyday life.
