Job description

Curriculum Development: Developing and planning social science curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials that align with educational standards, learning objectives, and students' grade levels and abilities. Instruction Delivery: Delivering engaging and effective social science instruction through a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group activities, simulations, case studies, and multimedia presentations. Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrating proficiency and expertise in social science disciplines, including history, geography, civics, economics, political science, anthropology, and sociology. Historical Analysis: Teaching historical concepts, events, and themes, and analyzing historical sources, documents, artifacts, and primary sources to develop critical thinking, historical literacy, and understanding of historical context. Geographical Understanding: Exploring geographical concepts, processes, and phenomena, including maps, landscapes, regions, cultures, and environments, and fostering spatial awareness, map reading skills, and global awareness. Civic Education: Promoting civic education and democratic principles by teaching students about government structures, political systems, citizenship rights and responsibilities, and participation in civic life. Economic Literacy: Introducing economic concepts, theories, and principles, including supply and demand, market structures, globalization, trade, labor markets, and personal finance, and fostering economic literacy and decision-making skills. Societal Issues: Examining societal issues, challenges, and inequalities related to culture, ethnicity, gender, religion, social class, and globalization, and fostering empathy, cultural awareness, and social responsibility. Critical Thinking and Analysis: Encouraging critical thinking skills by analyzing social science data, interpreting historical events, evaluating political arguments, and examining social phenomena from multiple perspectives. Research and Inquiry: Facilitating research projects, inquiries, and investigations on social science topics, guiding students in conducting research, gathering evidence, and presenting findings using academic writing and presentation skills. Assessment and Evaluation: Assessing students' understanding of social science concepts, knowledge, and skills through quizzes, tests, exams, essays, projects, and other assessment methods, and providing constructive feedback on their performance. Differentiated Instruction: Providing differentiated instruction and support to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, abilities, and backgrounds, including English language learners, students with learning disabilities, or gifted students.
