Job description

Curriculum development: Planning and designing comprehensive lesson plans, activities, and projects that cover a range of social science topics and align with curriculum standards and learning objectives. Classroom instruction: Delivering engaging and interactive lessons that explore historical events, geographical features, political systems, economic principles, and societal issues, using a variety of instructional methods such as lectures, discussions, simulations, and multimedia resources. Conceptual understanding: Helping students develop a deep understanding of key concepts, themes, and theories in social science disciplines, and guiding them in making connections between past events, current issues, and future implications. Critical thinking and analysis: Encouraging students to think critically, analyze primary and secondary sources, evaluate different perspectives, and draw informed conclusions about complex social, political, and economic phenomena. Inquiry-based learning: Facilitating inquiry-based learning experiences that allow students to explore questions, conduct research, gather evidence, and develop arguments in support of their conclusions, fostering curiosity and independent thinking. Geographic literacy: Teaching students about the physical and cultural characteristics of different regions, countries, and civilizations, and helping them develop geographic skills such as map reading, spatial analysis, and understanding of human-environment interactions. Civic education: Promoting civic knowledge, values, and participation by teaching students about democratic principles, citizenship rights and responsibilities, government structures and processes, and civic engagement opportunities. Economic literacy: Introducing students to fundamental economic concepts such as supply and demand, market systems, economic indicators, and personal finance, and helping them understand the role of economics in shaping individual choices and societal outcomes. Multicultural perspectives: Incorporating diverse perspectives, voices, and experiences into social science instruction, and fostering an inclusive learning environment where students appreciate and respect cultural diversity and global interconnectedness. Assessment and evaluation: Designing and implementing assessments, projects, and performance tasks to measure students' understanding and mastery of social science concepts and skills, and providing constructive feedback to support their learning and growth.
