Job description

Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise shop staff, including sales associates, cashiers, and stockroom workers. Delegate tasks, set performance expectations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure high standards of service and productivity. Visual Merchandising: Oversee the layout and presentation of merchandise to create visually appealing displays that attract customers and promote sales. Arrange products strategically, use signage and props effectively, and rotate displays regularly to highlight new arrivals and seasonal offerings. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ordering, and replenishment to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize out-of-stock situations. Monitor product performance, sales trends, and customer demand to optimize product assortment and inventory turnover. Sales Performance: Set sales targets, goals, and objectives for the shop and develop strategies to achieve them. Monitor sales performance, analyze key metrics such as sales revenue, average transaction value, and conversion rates, and implement initiatives to drive sales growth and profitability. Customer Service: Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service and fostering a customer-centric culture within the shop. Train staff on effective customer service techniques, handle escalated customer inquiries or complaints, and ensure prompt resolution to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty. Cash Management: Oversee cash handling procedures, including opening and closing tills, processing transactions, and reconciling daily cash and card payments. Ensure compliance with cash handling policies, security protocols, and accounting procedures to prevent discrepancies and losses. Operational Efficiency: Streamline operational processes and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Identify opportunities for process improvement, implement best practices, and leverage technology solutions to optimize workflow and resource allocation. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and security protocols within the shop. Conduct regular safety inspections, address hazards or risks promptly, and promote a safe and secure environment for employees and customers. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and implement promotional campaigns, events, and initiatives to drive foot traffic and increase sales. Leverage various marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, and local advertising to reach target audiences and generate awareness. Financial Management: Monitor shop expenses, budget allocation, and profitability to achieve financial targets and objectives. Analyze financial reports, track expenses against budget, and identify areas for cost reduction or revenue enhancement to maximize profitability. Vendor and Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of merchandise, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation. Continuously seek feedback from staff and customers, solicit suggestions for improvement, and implement changes to enhance the overall shopping experience.
