Job description

Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff, including sales associates, cashiers, and stock clerks. Delegate tasks, schedule shifts, and provide guidance and support to ensure efficient performance and a positive work environment. Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally. Lead by example in providing excellent customer service and fostering a customer-centric culture among staff. Sales and Revenue Generation: Set sales targets and develop strategies to achieve them. Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement initiatives to drive sales growth, such as promotions, upselling, and cross-selling. Lead by example in actively engaging with customers and driving sales on the shop floor. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control procedures, including receiving shipments, managing stock levels, and conducting regular stock counts. Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained and discrepancies are promptly addressed. Optimize inventory turnover and minimize stockouts to meet customer demand. Visual Merchandising: Ensure the store layout and displays are visually appealing and effectively showcase products. Coordinate with the merchandising team to plan and implement display arrangements, window displays, and promotional signage to attract customers and drive sales. Financial Management: Manage the shop's budget, expenses, and financial performance. Monitor expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Analyze financial reports and sales data to make informed decisions and drive business growth. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards, employment laws, and licensing requirements. Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and staff by implementing safety protocols and emergency procedures. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies and promotional campaigns. Utilize various channels such as social media, email marketing, and in-store promotions to attract customers, drive foot traffic, and increase sales. Supplier and Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and negotiate favorable terms and pricing. Evaluate supplier performance and seek opportunities for cost savings and product quality improvement. Performance Evaluation and Improvement: Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development to enhance staff performance and productivity. Continuously seek ways to improve shop operations, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
