Job description

Staff Management: Supervise and manage a team of automotive technicians, mechanics, service advisors, and support staff. Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and optimal performance. Workshop Operations: Manage all aspects of workshop operations, including scheduling, prioritizing, and coordinating vehicle inspections, repairs, maintenance services, and customer appointments. Ensure adherence to service timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their vehicle concerns, provide repair recommendations, and address any questions or concerns they may have. Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining open communication, providing accurate estimates, and resolving issues promptly. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures and inspection procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of vehicle repairs and service work. Conduct post-repair inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement, stocking, and distribution of automotive parts, components, and materials used for vehicle repairs and maintenance. Monitor parts inventory levels, availability, and procurement lead times to minimize delays and backorders. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that automotive tools, equipment, lifts, and machinery are properly maintained, serviced, and calibrated according to manufacturer recommendations and industry standards. Schedule routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment downtime and ensure reliability. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, procedures, and best practices to promote a safe working environment for automotive technicians and staff. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and training sessions to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards. Financial Management: Manage the shop's budget, expenses, and profitability goals by controlling costs, maximizing productivity, and optimizing resource utilization. Monitor financial performance metrics, such as revenue, expenses, profit margins, and labor efficiency. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance, productivity, and efficiency of automotive technicians and staff. Track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as job completion rates, labor hours per repair, and customer satisfaction scores, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about regulatory requirements, industry standards, and manufacturer guidelines related to vehicle maintenance, repair, and service operations. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, emissions standards, and consumer protection laws. Continuing Education: Stay updated on automotive technology advancements, diagnostic techniques, and repair procedures through training programs, workshops, and professional certifications.
