A science teacher or specialized high school teacher educates high school students to prepare them for postsecondary school or the workforce. Their main duties include planning and instructing lessons, assessing and supporting students' strengths and weaknesses, and adapting and enforcing classroom policies. Science teachers are primarily responsible for planning and instructing science lessons on a day-to-day basis. When not actively engaged in the classroom, science teachers prepare lessons, assignments and tests. They also grade assignments and evaluate overall student performance.
