Job description

Installation and Setup: Installing new refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and piping, according to manufacturer specifications and building codes. Maintenance and Servicing: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting electrical components, and replacing worn-out parts to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of refrigeration systems. Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing issues with refrigeration systems by conducting tests, inspections, and analysis of system components and performance. Repair and Replacement: Repairing or replacing defective or malfunctioning components such as compressors, thermostats, valves, and motors to restore functionality and prevent system downtime. Refrigerant Handling: Handling refrigerants safely and responsibly, following EPA regulations and industry best practices for refrigerant recovery, recycling, and disposal. System Optimization: Optimizing refrigeration system operation for energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness by adjusting settings, installing energy-saving devices, and recommending upgrades or replacements when necessary. Emergency Response: Responding to emergency service calls and performing repairs promptly to minimize disruption and ensure continuity of refrigeration services, especially in critical environments like food storage or medical facilities. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of service calls, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar tools. Customer Interaction: Communicating effectively with clients or building owners to explain repair or maintenance recommendations, provide cost estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction. Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines while working with refrigeration equipment, including handling electrical components, refrigerants, and mechanical systems safely. Continuous Learning: Staying updated on advancements in refrigeration technology, industry regulations, and best practices through training, seminars, and certifications to maintain professional competence. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other technicians, engineers, and contractors on projects requiring refrigeration expertise, and coordinating efforts to complete installations or repairs efficiently.
