Job description

Installation: Installing refrigeration systems in various settings, including commercial kitchens, supermarkets, cold storage facilities, laboratories, and industrial plants, following manufacturer specifications, engineering drawings, and safety guidelines. System Design: Designing and planning refrigeration systems based on client requirements, space constraints, environmental conditions, and cooling load calculations, selecting appropriate equipment such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, and piping components. Piping and Tubing: Fabricating, assembling, and installing refrigerant piping and tubing systems, including copper, steel, or PVC pipes, fittings, valves, and insulation materials, ensuring proper sizing, layout, and alignment for efficient refrigerant flow. Refrigerant Handling: Handling refrigerants safely and responsibly, including charging, recovering, recycling, and reclaiming refrigerants according to EPA regulations to prevent environmental damage and ensure compliance with legal requirements. System Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks to keep refrigeration systems in good working condition, including cleaning coils, lubricating moving parts, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting electrical components, and replacing worn-out or damaged parts. Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues with refrigeration systems, such as compressor failures, refrigerant leaks, evaporator icing, temperature fluctuations, and control system malfunctions, using diagnostic tools and equipment. Repair: Repairing or replacing faulty components in refrigeration systems, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, fans, motors, thermostats, pressure switches, and solenoid valves, to restore proper functionality. Defrosting: Performing defrosting procedures to remove ice buildup on evaporator coils and prevent system inefficiency and damage caused by restricted airflow and reduced heat transfer. Control Systems: Installing, configuring, and programming control systems and electronic controllers used to regulate temperature, pressure, humidity, and other parameters in refrigeration systems, ensuring precise control and energy efficiency. Energy Efficiency: Implementing energy-saving measures and retrofitting existing refrigeration systems with energy-efficient components such as variable-speed compressors, evaporator fan motors, and electronic expansion valves to reduce operating costs and environmental impact. Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for installation, operation, and maintenance of refrigeration systems, including electrical safety, refrigerant safety, and workplace safety requirements. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities, including equipment specifications, service logs, work orders, and refrigerant usage logs, to track work performed and facilitate future service requests. Customer Interaction: Interacting with clients, building managers, facility operators, and other stakeholders to assess refrigeration needs, provide technical expertise, recommend solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction. Training and Support: Providing training and technical support to clients, end-users, and maintenance staff on how to operate and maintain refrigeration systems effectively, including troubleshooting common issues and performing preventive maintenance tasks. Continuous Learning: Staying updated on advancements in refrigeration technology, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing training, certifications, and professional development opportunities.
