Job description

Installation of Refrigeration Systems: Installing new refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and piping systems, according to manufacturer specifications and building codes. Refrigeration Technicians ensure proper placement, alignment, and connection of components to achieve efficient system operation. Maintenance and Inspections: Performing routine maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Refrigeration Technicians conduct tests, check refrigerant levels, clean coils, lubricate moving parts, and replace worn-out components as needed. Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing malfunctions, mechanical issues, or system failures in refrigeration equipment. Refrigeration Technicians use diagnostic tools, gauges, and meters to pinpoint problems with compressors, motors, valves, and electrical components. Repair and Replacement: Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or refrigeration equipment to restore functionality and efficiency. Refrigeration Technicians may solder or braze leaks, adjust system controls, and recalibrate thermostats to ensure proper temperature regulation. Refrigerant Handling and Compliance: Handling refrigerants safely and in compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA regulations under Section 608). Refrigeration Technicians recover, recycle, or reclaim refrigerants during servicing, maintain accurate records, and follow proper disposal procedures. Emergency Service and Repair: Responding to emergency service calls and breakdowns to troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and restore refrigeration systems to operational status. Refrigeration Technicians work efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted cooling or freezing capabilities. System Testing and Performance Evaluation: Conducting performance tests and system evaluations to verify refrigeration system efficiency, temperature consistency, and energy consumption. Refrigeration Technicians adjust settings, analyze data, and make recommendations for system improvements. Documentation and Reporting: Documenting service activities, repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules in service reports or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Refrigeration Technicians maintain accurate records for compliance, warranty purposes, and future reference. Customer Communication and Support: Interacting with customers or building occupants to explain service findings, recommendations, and maintenance tips. Refrigeration Technicians provide technical guidance, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional communication and service delivery. Continuous Learning and Development: Staying updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and manufacturer guidelines through training programs, workshops, and certifications.
