Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Greeting patients as they arrive, checking them in for appointments, verifying demographic and insurance information, and ensuring all necessary forms are completed accurately. Assisting patients with the check-out process after their appointment, scheduling follow-up visits, and processing payments or copayments. Appointment Scheduling: Managing the scheduling of patient appointments, either over the phone, in person, or through an electronic scheduling system. Coordinating with medical staff to ensure appointment availability and meeting patient scheduling preferences. Patient Communication: Answering phone calls and emails, addressing inquiries, and providing information about services, appointment availability, and clinic policies. Handling patient queries regarding appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and general information. Medical Records Management: Ensuring accurate and timely management of patient records, including electronic health records (EHR) or paper records. Retrieving and updating patient information as needed, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to privacy regulations. Insurance Verification: Verifying patients' insurance coverage and eligibility for services. Collecting and documenting insurance information, explaining insurance benefits, copayments, and deductibles to patients. Coordination of Services: Coordinating referrals to specialists, diagnostic tests, and other healthcare services as requested by medical providers. Ensuring necessary paperwork and information are sent to appropriate facilities or specialists. Maintaining Reception Area: Keeping the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming. Monitoring and replenishing supplies such as patient forms, informational brochures, and magazines. Billing and Financial Transactions: Assisting with billing inquiries, processing payments, and reconciling daily financial transactions. Ensuring accuracy in billing codes and documentation related to patient visits and services rendered. Emergency Response: Following established protocols in case of medical emergencies or urgent situations. Notifying medical staff and emergency services as necessary to ensure prompt response and patient safety. Team Collaboration: Collaborating effectively with medical staff, nurses, technicians, and other administrative personnel to facilitate smooth patient flow, address patient needs, and maintain efficient clinic operations.
