Job description

Patient Care and Preparation: Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and positioning them correctly to obtain optimal images while adhering to safety protocols. Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of imaging equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI scanners, and fluoroscopy units, following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines. Image Acquisition: Capture high-quality diagnostic images of internal structures, organs, and tissues using imaging modalities such as X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fluoroscopy. Radiation Safety: Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure for patients, staff, and yourself, using shielding devices, collimation, and exposure techniques to optimize image quality while reducing radiation dose. Image Processing and Analysis: Process and analyze acquired images using specialized software and techniques to enhance diagnostic clarity, annotate findings, and prepare images for interpretation by radiologists or other healthcare providers. Anatomy and Physiology: Have a thorough understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology to recognize normal and abnormal structures on imaging studies and assist in the interpretation of findings. Patient Education: Educate patients about imaging procedures, potential risks, and safety precautions, addressing their questions and concerns to alleviate anxiety and ensure their cooperation and compliance during examinations. Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies or adverse reactions during imaging procedures, providing appropriate assistance and interventions to ensure patient safety and well-being. Documentation and Reporting: Document imaging procedures, patient information, technical factors, and findings accurately and comprehensively in medical records, ensuring that all relevant data is recorded for interpretation and follow-up. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, such as equipment calibration, performance testing, and image quality assessment, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize imaging performance. Collaboration: Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, share information, and ensure that imaging studies contribute to accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers, providing clear instructions, explanations, and updates regarding imaging procedures, findings, and recommendations. Problem-Solving Skills: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues or challenges encountered during imaging procedures, implementing corrective actions and solutions to maintain workflow and data integrity. Ethical Conduct: Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of patient care and data management, respecting patients' rights and privacy at all times. Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology, imaging techniques, and safety practices through continuing education, professional development, and participation in relevant training programs and seminars.
