Job description

Customer Service: Assisting customers with their inquiries, providing information about medications, over-the-counter products, and health-related items. Ensuring a positive customer experience by addressing concerns and offering solutions. Medication Dispensing: Supporting pharmacists in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Retrieving medications from shelves, entering prescription information into the computer system, and preparing medications for final verification by the pharmacist. Product Knowledge: Developing a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical products, including prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, supplements, and health-related products. Providing accurate information about product uses, dosages, side effects, and interactions. Sales and Upselling: Promoting pharmacy products and services to customers. Recommending complementary products, discussing promotions or discounts, and encouraging customers to purchase additional items based on their needs or preferences. Inventory Management: Assisting in managing pharmacy inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration date monitoring, and organizing shelves. Notifying pharmacists or supervisors of low stock levels or discrepancies. Cashier Duties: Operating the cash register, processing transactions accurately, and handling payments from customers. Ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures regarding cash handling and patient privacy. Health Education: Providing basic health information and advice to customers under the guidance of pharmacists. Discussing topics such as medication adherence, proper use of medical devices, and general health and wellness tips. Patient Assistance Programs: Assisting patients in enrolling or applying for patient assistance programs, discount cards, or manufacturer coupons to help reduce medication costs. Compliance and Safety: Adhering to pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines for patient confidentiality. Following safety protocols for medication handling, storage, and disposal. Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow, resolve customer issues, and maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
