Job description

Dispensing Medications: Filling prescriptions accurately and safely for patients based on their healthcare provider's orders. This includes verifying the correctness of medication, dosage, and instructions for use. Patient Counseling: Providing comprehensive medication counseling to patients, including dosage instructions, potential side effects, drug interactions, and precautions. Ensuring patients understand how to take their medications correctly and safely. Medication Management: Monitoring and managing medication therapy for patients, including reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness, checking for potential drug interactions, and consulting with healthcare providers as needed. Compounding Medications: Preparing specialized medications that are not commercially available or require customization based on patient needs. This may involve compounding creams, ointments, or liquid formulations. Patient Education: Educating patients on health conditions, preventive care, and the proper use of medications to promote adherence and optimal health outcomes. Addressing patient questions and concerns about medications. Medication Safety: Ensuring medication safety through proper storage, handling, and dispensing practices. Monitoring for medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and reporting incidents as required. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Collaborating with healthcare providers to promote health screenings, vaccinations, and wellness programs. Providing information on over-the-counter medications and health products. Inventory Management: Monitoring medication inventory levels, ordering medications and supplies as needed, and maintaining accurate records of stock. Ensuring medications are stored properly and securely. Quality Assurance: Participating in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to regulatory standards and guidelines. Performing regular inspections and audits to maintain pharmacy accreditation and compliance. Interprofessional Collaboration: Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care, discuss treatment plans, and ensure coordinated healthcare delivery.
