Job description

Medication Dispensing: Dispensing prescription medications accurately and safely to patients based on prescriptions issued by healthcare providers. Ensuring proper labeling, dosage instructions, and patient counseling. Patient Consultation: Providing medication counseling and patient education on the proper use, administration, and potential side effects of prescribed medications. Addressing patient questions, concerns, and medication adherence issues. Medication Management: Reviewing and verifying prescription orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and compatibility with other medications or medical conditions. Collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes. Compounding: Compounding medications when needed, such as preparing customized medications for patients with specific medical needs or allergies. Ensuring sterile compounding procedures and adherence to quality standards. Drug Information and Education: Providing accurate and up-to-date drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers. Educating on drug interactions, contraindications, and proper medication use to promote safe and effective therapy. Clinical Services: Participating in clinical pharmacy services such as medication therapy management (MTM), anticoagulation management, immunizations, and chronic disease management. Monitoring patient progress and outcomes. Pharmacy Operations: Managing pharmacy operations, including inventory control, medication procurement, storage, and distribution. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and pharmacy policies and procedures. Quality Assurance: Performing quality assurance activities to maintain the integrity and safety of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. Conducting medication reviews, drug utilization evaluations, and adverse drug reaction monitoring. Health Promotion: Promoting health and wellness through public health initiatives, patient education programs, and community outreach activities. Advocating for medication adherence, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications. Technology and Automation: Utilizing pharmacy automation systems and technology to enhance prescription processing efficiency, medication safety, and patient care. Implementing electronic health records (EHR) and digital pharmacy platforms. Research and Professional Development: Engaging in pharmacy research, clinical trials, and evidence-based practice initiatives. Continuing education and professional development to stay abreast of advancements in pharmacotherapy, healthcare regulations, and patient care practices. Ethical Standards: Upholding ethical standards and legal requirements in pharmacy practice, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and professional conduct.
